Release Notes for Second Life 1.13.0(5) November 22, 2006
=====================================
Changes:
* Updated Friends UI (NICE CHANGES)

** Set permissions for your friends to see you online/on the map(BUGS. If you don't have "Can see my online status" selected, Your profile will not show up at all in "Search", You do not exist. If you have a freind that you don't have "Can see my online status" checked for, THey will know you really are online when they send you an IM. They will not get the message "Second Life: User not online - message will be stored and delivered later." I could see this causing some bad problems in certain circumstances. IE; partner A is online and has it turned off for thier partner. Partner B comes on and sees Partner A is offline but leaves a message for Partner A and finds out Partner A really is online............... ugh oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

** Conference IM multiple friends by multi-selecting in Friends list (WORKS)

** See who has granted you permission to modify their objects(WORKS and you also see who you have granted permission to)

* New Privacy feature
** New option in Preferences to set whether you show as online in Search(see BUG above)

* Estate visibility
** The estate visiblity concept is simplified to just access permissions (WORKS)

** All classifieds, events, etc. within a grid now viewable, regardless of estate(WORKS)

** All regions within a grid now viewable, regardless of estate(WORKS)

** Online status is no longer hidden based on viewability of an estate(WORKS but you can hide it your online status with other new features)

I submit that maybe it's not LL's business if your relationship is so rocky that you have to hide from your partner ;) That said, it does suck that when a friend who you have set to not see your online status IMs you, then they can find out that you've blocked them from seeing you. It kind of tips your hand, and then you might have some painful explaining to do. One possible solution: set yourself busy, and set your busy message to "Second Life: User not online - message will be stored and delivered later."

All you have to say is "Hmmm. Looks like "Friends" is acting up again" How many times has SL shown someone as being offline when they were online? Happens a lot to me. Seems to be a perfect excuse. ;)

I found and reported this bug last night in preview. It seems that all planar mapping settings for objects in-world have reverted to Default mapping, and planar mapping is lost on sim restart or when taking and rerezzing an item. I really hope they can fix this before this update hits the grid.
