Am I the only one with problems on ADITI?

On both my machines, the lag in the beta grid is absurd, over a minute on my laptop, 10s of seconds on my desktop:

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 (Unknown model) (3197 MHz)
Memory: 2048 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
Graphics Card: GeForce 6800/PCI/SSE2
OpenGL Version: 2.0.1
LLMozLib Version: 1.1.0 (Mozilla GRE:1.8.0.10_0000000000)
Packets Lost: 63/2563 (2.5%)
Viewer Digest: aff94fb4-d9c6-4453-67d2-2ed178f46d29

Both these machines run prod SL fine with no issues. I suspect I've got some profile setting that ADITI doesn't like, but I haven't been able to find it. I've played with all the graphics settings with no change at all.

Lag would be an improvement, it crashes for me.

I've been on ADITI for the last 5 days. The first two crashed me horribly, but that could have just been the sim we were in (Morris sucks! :P).

Was on last night for about 9 hours and crashed only once.

The people around me didn't seem to be crashing as much as well.

it might just depend on what sim you're in.

You also might have to go to your Client Debug menu and turn off unneeded things like Clouds, or Particles. It's a pain as you have to do this each time you crash, but it helped me to stay on longer when I've done this. Have to make sure you log on in a quiet sim. I'd suggest Edge or DaBoom or one of the other less inhabited ones.

Do the folks that can stay in Aditi a while see the "prim-beams", like cartoons of rays of light shooting out from where a prim ought to be, textured with the prim's textures?

Hmm...I can't say that I have Suzanne. The prims look normal to me.
Lol...I think I jinxed myself...I've crashed about 6 times so far in the 6 hrs I've been on Aditi tonight.

That should have been fixed last friday night/saturday morning by the viewer i posted, we've not had any bug reports about that since.

Was that release also meant to fix the random crashing in 1.16 or was that just for flexiprims being rendered incorrectly. Because I'm still crashing about every 30-40 minutes in 1.16. Not as bad as it was (every 5-10 minutes). But still mildly annoying.

That should have been fixed last Friday night/saturday morning by the viewer i posted, we've not had any bug reports about that since.

Sigh, I've downloaded that at least twice and installed it twice, it didn't affect the problem at all. I believe I've filed bug reports since then, Im not sure.

The crashing problem doesn't allow bug reports using the inworld bug reporter; since when the program crashes, you can't access the bug reporter. The crash reporter is not working consistently either, not running at all in many instances.

I suspect you may be not getting as many useful bug reports as needed because people have given up completely on using the Aditia beta at all because they crash within minutes of starting it, like I do, so they don't try it at all. Once they give up, you don't get any reports of primbeams or any other problems.

There are reports in the forums about people having crashing problems since the Friday update by Milo.

The suggestions to start in different places that these reports of crashing are met with don't do much good. There's not much value in delaying the time till crash by a few seconds.

Could be some trouble caused by having the current version have the exact same version number and filename as the original version, which causes people to get a message saying they already have the file, which makes them say no they don't want to overwrite, since there's no apparent need to download a file they already have.

Well, I've just downloaded it again, and intalled it again, and while I didn't see any prim-beams during the few seconds it ran, after I turned my eyes back to this monitor it crashed. The crash reporter did run successfully.

----------------------------------------------

Went back again, this time I did get to stay running long enough to fly around and see some sculpties, then some one ask a question, and it crashed when I started trying to type my second response.

The crash reporter did run and complete.

Running for a minute or so with no prim-beams now, that's progress.

I did do a new download Monday and have the same problems with extreme lag in Fame.

I don't think you should be considering making this prod any time soon.

Not sure what happened, but I just got on and my lag problems are gone at least on my desktop. I seems to work well, although I didn't stay on long.

The build i made did have the save version number as i dont have the ability to build the other clients, although when i posted it i told people to allow the program to overwrite the old version.

The crash bugs have been fixed and should be released later tonight in time for tomorrows main grid downtime.

There have been some changes to sculpties which i'll post in another thread.
