WOW, that is all I can say. So many bugs that have been so irritating to me (and so many others) have been fixed. Old and new. The blurry text in the UI (chat, inventory etc) problem is gone. I have had a problem rezzing trees and textures that wouldn't load completely (low rez/blurry) unless I moused over them, that is also FIXED! I have had that particular issue for quite some time (1.10.3 or so). The eyedropper tool works. The texture picker now works like it use to (clicking on the thumbnail in the texture tab brings up the texture that is currently on the prim, and brings up nothing if you don't own the texture). The pie menu does not seem to have a mind of its own (at least so far). The "rubber banding" effect when crossing sim lines is fixed, and vehicles seem to cross the boarders like they use to (and not crash). Among others.

I definitely think the Lindens earned their pay this time. I certainly hope that everything goes smoothly tomorrow and it works as well as the preview grid! A big thank you to all the Lindens!

Update: Well I started getting the blurry texture problem again. But it is obviously better as I have not been able to see many textures without mousing over them for some time. The same goes for the trees. But the longer I am in, eventually it seems to catch up with me. And relogging didn't fix the problem. But a cache dump did (on the main grid though that doesn't help). Apparently there is still a issue when the textures are pulled from the cache. I did notice that they are very slow in comparison (a minute or two, sometimes logner) and even then are low resolution) to having them downloaded the first time (which is instant for every texture in my loctation). Regardless, this is definitely BETTER and step in the right direction. One more bug to squash in the cache system and I think this problem will be a thing of the past. :)

I just logged into preview this morning and flew back and forth (no vehicle, avatar only) across the empty (one other person at most) welcome area repeatedly. Not only did I rubberband, I watched my sim stats drop to a nice crawl (high ping, low time dilation). I would've made it on the preview jam.. if the preview client was downloadable yesterday.

Hmm, well I just tried it again and I did get a slight glitch of "rubberbanding" sometimes. But not near as bad as it was (I use to get half way across a sim then be thrown back to the edge). I also do see the sim stats drop to TD of .50 or so for half a second during the crossing, but not near as bad as before.

Sim Border Rubberbanding

I had zero issue with Sim Border Rubberbanding until today's release. Now I bounce away to a very rapid crash and burn of the client.

Sure wish it closed that fast when I hit QUIT!

Well I don't have that issue. But the blurring of textures (low resolution textures on prims unless one mouses over them) is not any differnt than it was before the update. Strange it was good on the Preview. :/ Well at least I can now read the text without eyestrain. That was a real "showstopper" for me (to use Linden catagorizing).

Correction:
While the chat history has focus, but not the BUTTON I click to OPEN AND CLOSE chait history (chat history does not take focus after clicking the button to open and button retains focus after clicking it again to close).
Closing chat history with the X does refocus to the chat bar.

Still doing it on main grid. Walked over near empty (1-2 users) sim lines....end up walking halfway across the sim with no control, then rubberband right back to the border. No lag before the crossing, no lag after the rubberbanding.

This thread is close enough to what I wanted to say...

Thanks Linden Labs for a wonderful stable release. Kudos on a job well done. And thank God that "Luck" was on your side this time ;)

Well with regard to the blurry texture problem I was having. All day yesterday I was still having it. Blurry textures, that would fully rez if you moused over them but only then. And had a tendency to derez and rerez at times. And some just wouldn't load at all unless I moused over them. Then about 10pm SLT last night like a switch they all started loading and has been that way ever since. I haven't had textures working like this for quite some time. Thank you LL. I think some linden somewhere flipped a switch....but I wonder what that switch was.

Draco, yes I agree that is a bit annoying. I keep going to type and end up moving or jumping because the chatbar does not have focus. But I am not going to complain.....bugs that have been irritating me for some time have been fixed. I just hope LL keeps on this bug smashing streak.

OK great, I just wanted to mention thank you for the nice words. I am going to show this to other Lindens to boost our bug-bustin' energy levels. :)

I'm aware of some of these chat bar focus issues (and other focus issues, for that matter) too. I'll be coordinating with other Lindens about them so they can be crushed. If you have specific bug reports and step-by-step repros--I promise to run through 'em--feel free to post 'em!

The current 1.11 preview, Second Life 1.11.2 (1) Jul 28 2006 17:12:18, has our friends list coming up blank. No friends at all.

Hopefully this is a known issue that will not get put on the main grid.

Yes I am having the same problem as I posted in
/142/5e/125576/1.html It is suprising that no one has responded (I thought that posting in the current version catagory might get more attention than the preview one). I have bug reported it, and I suggest you do the same. However I did find a linden in the preview and they also had the same problem. I suspect it has to do with the new "feature" of sorting the friends by online status. You can add friends and they will still be on the list even if they are offline. So it must be that the list was deleted with the new "feature" I can't imagine that this is intended. But I would suggest writing down all your friends so you can refriend them if need be on Wed.

Lord, people will be crying and having heart attacks if their friends lists are gone.

Well I dumped my cache and I started getting the same old blurry texture problem again. So it DOES have to do with the cache. Strange how it worked once but now after dumping same old problem returns. I am seeing textures rez then go blurry (trees blurry etc etc). Even if I put my pointer over it, it will rez fully for a while then go blurry again. *Sighs* Well it was nice while it lasted.............

The blurry-texture problem totally goes away if I set my graphics memory to 128MB instead of 64MB (yeah, 64MB used to be good -- I dunno why this changed). But! Either a restart is then needed, or a long wait, before this setting takes effect and unblurrifies everything.
