Aditi suddenly closed for maintenance without a warning?

I've been busy for some hours on something in Sandbox Island and all of a sudden i get logged out due to a region shutdown and trying login back gives the message that Aditi is temporarly closed for maintenance,,, without a (regular) warning in front. This will cause my work lost as objects wont return to inventory from these sandboxes... Is a warning of 5 or 3 minutes upfront that hard to do?

what with the words "security precaution" i would surmise that a 3 to 5 minute warning really wasn't the best route to take. it appears it had to be shut down immediately for whatever reason.

Thx SuezanneC and 23rdDjin for your replies. The notice was made ± 3 hours after the shut down. After reading I do understand the quick log-off and shutdown, nevertheless a short notice "your region is going to restart in 30 seconds" would have been enough to save work.

I wouldnt post this if this happened for the first time or if i knew it was about security but the fact is this happened several times in the past (also with non-security issues) makes it looks like the protocol to take a region or the grid down is kinda lost on Aditi.

Anyways, glad to see its up again and even on server 1.30 now! yay! :)

Maybe they didn't want you to be able to save work there.

I wasnt' sure what was happening with the test grid and thought maybe I need to update the install. I searched for the test grid install files on the SL website and could not find them. Does anyone have a link so I can make sure I have the correct install.

I hope they get it up and running soon.

I'm sure I saw a warning that you should make objects copy when working on the Preview Grid if you don't want to lose them. That way they get returned to your Lost and Found folder.
