As a UI improvement for the inventory, could it be possible to drag certain folders to the tab area at the top of the inventory window so you can list only the contents of that folder? It would also help if these tabs were saved between sessions. The folder that's being kept track of appears as the root folder in the new tab, with no folders above it. This would allow people with huge inventories to keep tabs (<plays a rimshot>;) on their more recent projects without having to dig through thousands of objects and folders. It would also give easier access to favourite appearance folders (since a favoured set of clothes and attachments would be in this tab, you could drag the root folder onto your avatar to quickly change appearances).

It would also be really handy, if you could show the Landmarks folder as a sub-menu in the main menu, so you don't have to first open the inventory, open the Landmarks folder and clicking on the place you want to go to. Just select your destination from the menu, like the bookmarks from your browser.

YEs! I'm finding myself at a loss to make use of the tab feature as it is, but this would REALLY help!

I've requested this one too. GMTA. :)

I want it to persist between sessions too.

I really started thinking of the Inventory like a tabbed web browser, in the way of being able to save sets and recall them.

May be too complex for some, but I can see the value in this.

Well if they can spend time making the menus detatchable, they can spend time figuring out how to make folders attachable to the inventory tab bar. >.>;

If you have a small inventory maybe it is practical though dont even see any sense in it. just more to mess up doing inventory
as it is you can hold your cursor over the arrow to the left of the folder and hope the each folder in fact the whole inventory is so broke now that all of the folders up
maybe an improvement might be to make it as it use to be where the folders take longer to open when moving things and not all the folders open when moving things or moving one folder to another or one item to a folder

if you have a zillion things in your inventory oh would it be a pain to drag a folder to the tab then all the folders would open and what a mess then back up to close all folders for the millionth time.
interesting idea but what a pain it would be for us who have lots in our inventory. i say jsut fix it so all the folders dont open at once. and move the recent tab over so we dont close all thefolders when we are trying to find something

I've wanted this feature for awhile, too. When I heard we were getting inventory tabs, I was so excited, I thought that this was finally it, I was going to be able to dedicate a tab to any folder... but no. I think if you go to the "recent" tab and do Filters -> Modify Current, maybe you can type the name of a folder and it'll show only that folder... I haven't tried this yet. Anyway, that's only one tab, and I have no idea if it'll save across sessions.

I think you've got my idea confused with something else. What I propose is taking one folder, like say... Clothing, or perhaps a subfolder in your Clothing folder, and dragging it up to the tab section in your inventory window. That tab is named after the folder you dragged up there, and it acts as the new root directory of that tab. You click on it, and it shows the contents of that folder in that tab, including subfolders (closed, like normal, until you open them). So for example:

CODE

v Inventory
... Other folders
v Clothing
> Sports clothing
> RPG costumes
> Furry stuff
... More folders

Say I want to have a tab exclusively for my sports clothing because during football games I want to dress up in my favourite team's colours, and then want to change outfits for baseball games. So I drag the Sports clothing folder up to the tab section and now I can look at all the subfolders of that directory by clicking on that tab. Nothing else, no scrolling through three dozen other folders (even with everything closed) just to get to the one folder I want.
