In our continuing effort to improve the Second Life experience, we plan to release version 1.8.4 on Wednesday February, 22, 2006 (pending final verification of all bugs). The grid will be down from 7am to 12pm PT/SLT for the update. A new viewer will be required.

* Improved rendering of HUD objects
* Maximum nighttime brightness level can now be raised
** Default value of 1.5 is unchanged
* llSetText alpha parameter is no longer ignored
* Try to connect to server before opening application in full screen mode so that firewall alert can be seen by user
* Streaming music no longer restarts when walking from one parcel to another
* Nametag will change when editing appearance to let other residents know you are doing so
* Additional fix for issue with water level not being correct upon entering a region
* Find > All now has a "Mature" checkbox
* Resolved an issue with "Position" button being selected and color change being undone
* Several minor UI issues were resolved
