Burning Life Returns – the Ultimate Expression of Second Life Creativity

Last year’s Burning Life festival shook the foundations of Second Life and opened many eyes to the true creative potential of our growing world. This year, Second Life’s homage to Burning Man is back – bigger, bolder, and more eye-opening.

The Burning Life grounds will rise as an island – a place at once foreign and familiar—much larger than last year’s site. Participants will be announced on Tuesday, August 31 and will have five days and almost 1/16 of a sim to express their interpretation of Burning Life. Use of the land is free of charge and won't count against your land tier. The specially created location echoes the spirit of Burning Man’s Black Rock Desert – without the blood-boiling Nevada heat.

On Tuesday, September 7 Burning Life will disappear once again – objects and land ownership will be wiped, leaving participants and visitors with a lingering suspicion that it was all a dream…

Particulars
Burning Life is about collaborative art and expression – not commerce. No sales (or other money transactions) or advertisements are allowed. The Burning Life parcels cannot be terraformed and will not capture dwell. As this is a collaborative project, participants are asked to limit their use of scripts to insure that the festival grounds offer a level performance that allows visitors to enjoy all everyone’s creations.

Process
Participants will be selected by lottery from those who enter by posting to this thread. The deadline for entry is August 26 at 4 PM PT. (This may be extended depending on the number entrants.) Please state your preference for an M or PG sim and if you want to be next to a particular other participant. (We can't promise that we can meet all the requests.) Also, if you wish, select one or more of these descriptions: realistic, surrealistic, futuristic, retrospective. We may use your choice to cluster participants. Whatever you state in your entry will have no affect on whether you are selected; we will choose via lottery. Only one lottery entry per person, please; don't enter an alternative accounts. The winners and the coordinates of their plot will be posted in the forums on or before August 31st. Land not claimed by September 2 may be given to another participant.
