The grid is currently down for the 1.7 deploy.

Unfortunately, the status page does still show us as being up and available. While the status page may need a bit of updating, we are currently focusing on updating the grid and we'll let you know when 1.7 becomes and offically released reality.

In the mean time, if you're account was born before September 21, 2005 please feel free to goto http://secondlife.com/downloads/preview.php and download the release candidate build of 1.7 and play in the preview grid while we're slapping the duct tape....er, I mean finishing up with 1.7 on the main grid. (unfortunately, accounts created after September 21, 2005 are not in the preview database snapshot and will not be able to log in.)

We'll update you as soon as we're back up and running.

I've updated the grid status page so that it will display the correct status for the grid. While the grid is down many portions of the website will be down including LindeX, land auctions, and sign-ups. As soon as the grid is avialable again those pages will once again become accessible.

Cheers,
Lawrence

More banging, more clanging, less duct tape though!

We're still trying to aim for our 2pm (GMT - 8:00) opening time, however, a gnome got wedged in the gears and we're trying to work it out, so it may be a bit past then when we open. Further updates as warranted.

2:00 comes and goes. The turning of dials, the pulling of levers & chains, the clanking of work continues. We are currently aiming for a 4:00 PM PDT uptime. We are very sorry for the delay, as with all major publishes there are unforeseen problems. We are working through them one at a time.
