People are wanting a place for disputes and grievances in the SL world to be tried in the court of public opinion, but not finding these Linden Lab provided forums to serve the purpose because of Linden imposed constraints.

Well, one url for the court of public opinion is forums.sluniverse.com.

Another is forums.secondcitizen.com.

Dearest SuezanneC Baskervilleians,

It is a shame that people are not able to warn one another about fraud or scams for fear of the names being censored. I am writing to compliment this forum group on being a beacon of free speech and helping refer us to such alternate sources of communication. It certainly is a good thing that we're not restricted entirely to the constraints and censorship put forth in these SL forums, is it not? Have a wonderful, graey-free day! :)

Since this thread began I because aware of a new forum at sldrama.com, started by Foolish Frost.

To join sldrama's forum you drop by a site inworld and it gets your key and av name and thus, at this forum, when you see the posts by Firstname Lastname, you know the forum member there is actually the same Firstname Lastname you see inworld and in the secondlife.com forums.

Of course, this makes it less useful for the folks who like to go to sluniverse.com or secondcitizen.com and sign up using an avatar they aren't the operator of in SL, or to create names and make troublemaking, insulting, hateful, lying posts without having them attributed to any of their inworld avatars.

At secondcitizen.com, for example, people who make or find posts in the secondlife.com forums they think are likely to be deleted or edited in these sl forums can take screenshots of those posts and then post the screenshots in the secondcitizen forums. It might seem hard to believe that people would be so proud of hatefulness and rudeness and rule-breaking that they would do such a thing, but they do.

It's interesting, there is said to be such a need to point out con games or low quality products, yet sluniverse has been around I think over two years, and I don't believe there is much discussion of such matters there.

Aaron Levy has a site, the SLBBB.com, I believe, the SL Better Business Bureau.
. He has an area for discussing consumer/producer matters and one to talk about Linden Lab also.

I even made a Google group, SL Consumer Reportss, which folks could use if they wanted to talk about problems with goods and services purchased in SL.

If folks wanted to promote these platforms they could put links to these sites in their forum signatures, which would be a pretty effective way to publicize them, and would make them readily available throughout the forums.
