Physical Shared Distributed Space

Here's something I'd like to see the full of energy sorts try.

A bunch of real world geeks decide on a standardized realworld setting to use as a shared space over the internet.

A toy race track might be a good first place to start with.

So they all make indentical copies of the same track layout. Each puts a webcam in the same spot. Each puts a webcam on their car. Connect all the video data via the internet, mix the video together, voila! - a shared distributed physical space. There's got be a group of geeks geeky enough to make that idea work somewhere in the world.
