The State of The Group Address

So what does the future entail? Where are is everything heading and what does the future hold?

The recent schism is an occurrance quite unlike that any Jedi Order can be expected to produce. The fractions of the past, of the Jedi Order, have only lead to tradjedy, betrayal and even the formation of what would become the Sith we know now.

Certainly the Order has never split and formed two separate councils and Orders.

So I must ask, what will happen? How does this affect the individual? Most importantly, where do you see the Group a month... 3 months... a year down the road?

My take on what has gone on is that the danger of Second Life is ego involvement. A year has passed since Mary and I were recruited by Obannah Kuhr to make sense of the depricated state of the Jedi.

At that time Darth Padar and the Dark Lords of the Sith held over 100 members and they enjoyed griefing our small band of jedi at every turn. Thus some real animosities built up that have never reconciled. For instance Amanda Black remains a sith but cannot bring herself to role play much......at least with us. I don't think she much liked it I exposed her "avril laxness" character on the new holstice sim.

In any event our New Jedi Order has a very secure council now, and the facts are that people come and people go. What we have learned is to avoid the unstable elements on second life like the plague and have nothing to do with them. Aside from the differences normal people have naturally (and this is why more than one Jedi order is a good thing) those types lead to the kinds of schisms and paltry issues that occur. Rest assured the New Order of the Jedi remains secure and in better hands.

What we should endeavor to do is realize people will have differences. This is acceptable. However we will remain on our guard against those that use SL as an escape INTO Fantasy or an escape FROM reality-as thats where the griefers come from. This all is nothing more than fantasy fulfilment......

People do what they do because they want to. So we make them want to have fun! And they will.....and maybe learn something about themselves in the process.....
