Getting Started ???

I am totally new to the whole video-ing thing in SL. Not planning to take the SL world by storm, just produce some short videos.

I just hit the in-world Control+Shift+A key. I thought it would be as easy as taking photos...but the Lag Monster!!! Eeeek! The moment I stopped the video - no Lag! Did it a few times, and the same thing happened - No Lag / Lag / No Lag / Lag / No Lag. Am I doing anything wrong ????

The other thing was, that when I went to view what I had filmed, hoping to at least have captured the Lag Monster at work, but the Format wasn't able to play. It's an AVI format, and the computer said it isn't recognised.

I'm not very technically minded, so if anyone can offer any advice, on better video-ing, etc, please can you put it as simply as possible...I just about have learnt what a plug is! Lol!

These give most help if you are on a PC. The screen capture program, FRAPS, is not available for the Mac. My FAQ page gives some advice about screen capture programs for the Mac:

You are in the right section, but perhaps failed to read what many other talented people have posted for just such an occurence. Thats the key, reading.... Personal tutoring isn't cheap.

Sounds like your system cannot handle grabbing full screen footage.
