You can upload videos to Blip.tv and then access the original, uploaded file for use in SL. It's a free service, sort of like YouTube. http://blip.tv/I show you the steps for doing this in one of my Shiny Life tutorial videos: http://www.shiny-life.com/2008/03/06/converting-videos-for-second-life/

I have a question

With your tutorials, is it possible to have one "Master Video Control." What I'm thinking about doing is getting videos in the "TV object," seeing if I can get individuals interested in letting me set my tv show in their place, and then, instead of having to maunally change every single TV, I simply change the "Master."

You can only do that if all the 'TV's use the same media texture and they are within the same parcel.

I suppose you could also script some kind of networked communication system. As long as each individual tv has the proper setup and permissions (ie. owned by the land owner or group that owns the land it's on) then each TV could change the media stream settings. You would just need a way to communicate the new media URL to the tvs - possibly via the web. grid wide communication is not one of my strong points. You could also just have all the TVs set to the same movie URL, then just change the actual contents of that same movie file when you want to change the video. Don't change the URL, just the video that lives at that URL.
