Here's a simple to use and free converter..that converts to wav (for SL audio clips).http://www.koyotesoft.com/indexEn.html
If you haven't made your clip 10 seconds long you'll need to use another program to edit it first. But for fast and easy converting of many popular formats to wav..or vice versa..this is a good program. Hope this helps. |

+1 for Audacity for purposes like this. Supported on most platforms (Win, Mac, Linux). A swiss-army knife for audio, and free. Open source.
Perfect for slicing/dicing audio. Not great but works for de-noise, pitch shift, time stretch, and many other advanced audio processes. Also allows mixing multiple audio tracks into a single track. Supports audio plugins, which are available galore, cheap and/or free for Windows, not quite so much luck for Macs. This is the perfect program for someone who's wading into audio processing. Learn what you can do using Audacity. If you get serious about any of the higher level stuff (advanced audio filtering or multitracking), there are better programs, but getting started on Audacity will take you on the path until you're ready to move up. |

GoldWave http://www.goldwave.com/
Has an autocut option that will slice an audio file in X equal parts. |

Goldwave's processing sounds great too. A bargain at US$45 if you do much audio work.
