How can I register my voice in a video?

I'm recording from the viewer and the video doesn't register my own voice (I checked, other people can hear me) Is there any trick to do this or do I need additional software? Which program is best to record ambient and voice sounds? Any free one?

Thanks.

Fraps is mostly used by others to make in-world videos. The "Try Out" version doesnt allow sound recording, but the Paid version does ($37).

You can try using your Audio SC's freebie software to record your voice and overlay that into the movie editor that you use. You will need to record at 128bit, 41,000htz PCM Wav format for the best results. This can be compressed in the final rendering, although you must maintain the 41,000htz rating otherwise your sound will become distorted.

If you simply download a program like teamspeak it can record your voice while in SL, live. That could save you the time of editing the voice in. :)

I don't believe that teamspeak has the correct ability to record in a useable format, at best the voice will appear distorted when the codex is applied to the rendered movie.

Fraps records the audio from teamspeak without a problem.

I'm assuming, having read the post again, that you are using FirstLookVoice client? When you connect to the voice server, your OS routes all voice channels to that port, hence why you cannot record your own voice. I suspect that your only way round that, is to use a similar programme to OpenGLGrabber, that routes graphics data from the GC ports, and 'shares' them between the screen and the capture programme. Exactly what that programme would be, I'm at a loss.
