this works very well for converting wmv or otheres to 3gp format that QT uses
I like it very much makes smaller file sizes too. http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=3GP_Converter worth a try its free and will give you more space for more videos on putfile or other places. wil convert to mp4 as well. -LW |

converting wmv's

Im working with a large number of wmv files that need to be converted to a quicktime compatible format to stream in SL on my parcel. These files are already too large (close to 100mb) and I have tried some of the free wmv converters that are available but no matter how I change the quality settings or the format the files increase to at least twice the size of the original wmv file when I am done. Anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the file size down?

To gain the best compression, but not the best quality, try using the MP4 format. There are a prolifercation of formats that come under the QT Mov format. Mov is a delivery standard, not a compression standard.

worth a try its free and will give you more space for more videos on putfile I noticed that putfile announced all uploaded video formats will be converted to flash. I havnt tried it out yet but It seems as if this will make video storage useless for SL. |
