Is there a way to have the camera locked on to your own left or right side so that you can film yourself moving along from the side ?

Thanks

If you mean like a follow cam, yes, there is a freebie version available.. IM me ingame and I'll dig one out for you.

easiest way to do this is to set up your shot with manual controls, then enable the flycam. As long as you don't move the joystick, your cam will be static and you can move your av wherever you want.

Note that using the above tip requires you to have some kind of joystick or similar device. When you use one, you can have very smooth camera motion as well as a stationary camera view. It's a good tip.

I use a Space Navigator that is excellent for machinima camera control. I use it often, actually, just to make building easier. I just fly the camera around, up, down, etc while my avatar stands out of the way.
