Please check it out- esp. at the end, there are lots of effects and surprises!

This is another Popcha production. My credits were machinimatographer, editor, including post-production for the special effects :D

Hi Ariella,

I'd love to see your work, however I use Vista, so QT player doesn't open this link, can you embed it in a html page?

Your work is as always, crisp, precise and professional. :)

Great peice of machinima, which is RL facing. This clearly sets the standards that others will probably be keyframed on.

Hey guys.. I know a few people couldn't see it on my site (I know.. long loading times)

http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=3BJCmYN6_1w

Check it out on youtube but please please please click "watch in high quality" to the bottom right of the video. It loads almost as fast but is much better quality. Youtube compression SUCKS.

Thanks!

What does this mean? Does Vista block Quicktime or something?

The QT player wont load on Vista, I get a error 43, which the only reference I can find, indicates a register issue with an activeX pluggin. However I can watch movies embedded in a html page without issue. If I select the QT icon from the control panel, I can adjust certain preferences, but the 'file association' programme, will not allow me to select QT as the default for MOV files LOL...

DEP prevents Java being run as well. I have tried the command line to optout of the DEP, but it kicks back. I have selected each of the Java and QT files in the DEP exceptions, without success. Installing both Java and QT as admin didn't change anything.

DEP actually shuts down my IE, and reports that it has saved me from ultimate destruction of the universe when I visit a website with Java.... <mutters about anal programmes>

I have set every QT and Java exe programmes as Admin control, nadda, run registery cleaners, reinstalled, nadda nadda nadda...

I drop into XP on my other system when I need to do anything on the internet requiring QT player, or Java, so I get round it. I suspect when Windows 7 comes out, once installed, it will rez a welding kit and seal the PC case... I hate the anal controls of Vista, disabled AUC as soon as it was installed, so I could stop the 'windows doesn't recognise your headphones as being vista compatible, so is disabling your sound card until you demand a compatible set from your manufacturer' message.

You mean "bcdedit /set nx AlwaysOff" didn't work? :(

And the rot is spreading to Apple.

They're copying Microsoft's damn "pop up a warning when you download anything from the interweb" already, and they've gone to signed executables. Asses.

Actually the AlwaysOff is reported as not being part of the comand set, OptOut is.

I tried it several times, checking the comand syntax.

I have installed on seperate HD's, XP (SP3), Vista Home 32, Vista 32 and 64 Ultimate complete with all SP's and updates. Checked the Apple Forums and MS website for the error 43, nadda. Emailed both companies, nadda.

Hey Ariella,

You don't have to do much, after you agreed I submitted your movie and put in a personal word for the film.

There are two awards:

Audience Award, the award that goes to the winner chosen by viewers, and Grand Prize, which is chosen by Magic Rock.

We here at Magic Rock is promoting alternative filmmaking, and we hope that Mechafilms Festival will do just that. First one might be a bit rough, but month by month we hope to improve it. Will also appreciate some ideas.

Here are some things you can do:

Help promote Mechafilms Festival! Let people know, invite them. All films featured (a total of 4) will include a Live Q/A with the filmmakers after the showing.

Go ahead and head into our land, go to the Pantages theater (thats where the festival will be hosted), tell us what you think!

Will also be hosting an after party after the festival, where the winner will be announced.

Also, we want to schedule the film festival to the filmmaker's convenience, so a time when you will be available will be greatly appreciated. The festival will be held within the first week of January.

If you know of any good mechanima films, let me know. Filmmaker has to be a Second Life user though, we want to keep this SL focused. Otherwise, email me at jaywong@magicrock.com and we could chat some more there.
