Hi, I am looking for some assistance in Secondlife. I am doing a project as a multi-media student at Staffordshire Uni which can be found on EducationIslandUK in SL.

I need some friendly pirates for a bit of film footage for a game i am making for children at my local Special Learning Difficulties Centre, I want to make it fun for them as most of these children are 8-10 but using games aimed at 5 year olds.

So I want to revamp the existing word games but in a computer games style with Pirate footage as the transitions i.e. get a word right and you see someone walk the plank. As part of the story plot the ship will need to re-stock and travel from Port to Port, so maybe it would be fun to get some footage of a pirate ship battle. All I really need are about about 10 shots of different avatars walking the plank and some footage of a battle with possibly some overhead close up footage of a ship moving on the water, hopefully avoiding the need for much of an expanse of water. And, I may be pushing it here, a small group of pirates digging up treasure would be fantastic for the final scenes. I have the filming equipment I need installed and ready to use.

The actual word play game will be a much more static thing like a drag and drop flash based game with the transitional footage providing the rewards for getting it right. As the centre deals predominantly with children who have Dyslexia and similar reading difficulties it seemed a good idea to try it this way. It does seem I have entered unchartered territory where educational games for this age range of reading difficulty is concerned and I approached the staff about my idea and they are very keen to check out a trial or facsimile version.

So I am looking for a location and possibly some people to film in it, although I am part of the SL Education UK Group and they can provide me with volunteer actors.

I don't have the time to build it all for the initial ideas stage but I wish to produce a facsimile to hopefully market or maybe just do it in my own time and get my own Sim after the project is finished

As an aside, I realise people do have lives and I do not expect freebies,I'm expecting to provide costumes fr some, pay rent or some kind of donation to the groups, people and/or sims that I deal with, but I am a student and a parent at that so my resources are limited but I do not wish to take advantage. And if I can market the idea I would do the whole project properly and pay for services.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions,

Well if you still need help, I'd love to do what I can....though I'm not quite sure what exactly, but feel free to get in touch. A very good project and I'm sure there'll be a lot of people on the forums who'll be willing to help...
