You need some kind of capture program - Fraps, CamStudio, XFire, Camtasia, Berio (Mac), etc. - some are free, others cost. Then, you can capture to your computer what you see happening on your screen.

The video needs to be edited, which you can do with any number of programs - Windows Movie Maker, iMovie, VideoStudio, Premiere, Vegas, etc., etc. Start out using what is included on your computer then move on to a more elaborate program if you find you need to.

You can do it all for free.

If you are on a Mac, look on the FAQ page for suggestions on capture programs. You can also find links to downloads and instructions for free software: the Gimp for the same work you would do in Photoshop, Audacity for audio work, Jing for screen capture, and other useful info.

There are many examples on these forums giving information about 'how to make movies' in a 'clinical' way. Certainly a lot of talented and skilled people doing it in many Virtual Platforms.

Once you have a selection of suitable software that you can use well and are familair with for a good workflow, and assuming you need it... try asking a few people here if they will mentor you. Making movies, like any craft, isnt about just having the right software/hardware. Having a Nikon camera, doesnt make you a photographer
