I want to make an instruction video for one of my products. I need the UI to demonstrate certain actions, so ctrl-alt-F1 is not an option. But at the same time I want to hide all incoming popups, such as money transactions (blue popups), IMs (IM button), avis going online and offline etcetera.
How can this be done?

Set "busy.'
Also many notifications like transactions, friends, etc. are able to be turned off. I don't have most of them running, ever, as it's a bit annoying. Look in Prefs. _____________________

Thanks Osprey. Is there another way than setting 'Busy'? How can notifications like transactions, friends, etcetera be turned off?
BTW, in Busy mode I still get the money transaction popups. Also the IM button appears of course. |

Create an alt to use to make the video, and don't give them any friends or money.

Just turn them off in Prefs.
Like untick "show online friend notifications," and so on. Explore Preferences and you'll see. _____________________

You can hide your name on the screen, and use the same avatar (shape, skin, clothes, etc). Who will know?
