You question suggests that you need to start with the basics. You dont need code or ftp. You need a server with url and streaming capabiliies. for delivery. You must stream in a format compatible with Quicktime. Picking it up on your land is just a land setting.

You need to compress the stream to MOV with a forced start for streaming and an average stream size for high speed internet. Final Cut, or any other average movie editor should be able to compress to whatever codec you supply.
