Pipe dream for recording functionality

Here I am, just about to leave work, and I get this amazing craving for something that will probably never exist:

How cool would it be to have a video recording mechanism that worked like the "freeze" option for taking screenshots? When you hit the record button, you'd be recording everything around you in real time (within draw distance, of course) to be reviewed and replayed afterward, in the client, before saving.

The big selling point for me would be the fact that you could line up camera angles -after- the shoot, and even experiment with different angles on the same shot. All you'd need to worry about is putting your actors in the right place at the right time.

I don't know what motivated me to actually post this. I guess I just had to get it into writing before the novelty wore off in my imagination. Sorry if it's been discussed before!

Frapps records anything on your screen so there isn't any reason why it actually wouldn't work. Could be useful for "bullet time " effects and such perhaps.
