Hello,
I have some nice fottage im trying to import into windows movie maker. My problem is that it is like a slide show and pausing long times on the screen shot instead of showing us moving around. Is there some kind of control in the prefrances so that its not so choppy or to get rid of the slide show effect while filming? it also doesnt pick up any sound. ( sory if this has been asked a million times allready)
Lastly do you have to film the whole thing in mouse look to elimiate the hud and bottom menu? Some of my Ao overides on my screen are on the film the menu at bottom ruins it.
I have searched this forum top to bottom for a basic tutorial on getting the shots right and found nothing.
Thank you Thank you for any input!

Thank you Thank you for any input! Try BBFlashback http://www.bbsoftware.co.uk/bbflashback.aspx If your footage is a slide show...you cannot very well turn it into a flowing movie. You need to record a flowing movie in order to present it in that manner. Microsoft Movie Maker does not record movies does it? I never used it for that purpose. Try the link above, I think you will like using that much better. With BFlashback and some other software you can select what portion of your screen you want to record...kind of like a crop window. So if you have a HUD showing, you can crop the window so it and any other info does not show in your movie. When you use BBFlashback, you can export the movie so it can be viewed in Movie Maker or Flash or many other programs. It records sound if you wish and screen clicks etc... I think 99% of your problem is the wrong software. Hope this helps!

You might start at looking why your movies are to 'choppy'. It maybe your system cannot process and capture the scene quick enough. You have a couple of basic solutions. 1) Use a 3rd party programme to capture the raw data, Fraps or HyperCam are both useful to use. They not only allow you to create a 'region' within your client excluding the tool bars etc, but also reduce the amount of data you have to capture in the first place. You can also, using these programmes, although not my personal choice, use a codex to compress the data as you capture it, saving on disc space. 2) Always make sure you are not running other programmes/services except those required, while capturing footage. Clean the debris from your hard disc and defrag beforehand, and everytime. This will make the storage flow easier. 3) Assuming you have a suitable Graphics Card, Ram and CPU, try saving the footage at a rate of 25fps, again assuming your system can run SL at 25fps or better in the first place, otherwise you will end up with a series of 'stills' giving the appearance of it being 'choppy'. 4) Render the movie at the same capture rate (25fps), otherwise it will drop frames or attempt 'tweening'. This will give results like people jumping/teleporting everywhere in the scene (dropped frames), or having 3-4 legs as they walk(tweening).
