Well, if you look at the testimonials on our websites (all unedited), I suppose our clients would think we do a good job.

Asking who, or what, is the best machinima, is like saying there is only One car, One artists picture, One magazine etc etc that beats all. There are many talented people/companies producing a richness of machinima/media out there. Some use SL (not an easy platform by any means), others use a variety of platforms. Perhaps narrowing your perspective down to that media produced solely using SL as a platform, you might look at those that are trying many techniques to gain the very best out of what we have. Comparing SL with other platforms is perhaps unreal, simply because SL/OpenSim is the only one that has actual user content provision abilities, but on the other hand, has limited abilitiy regarding ray tracing/light maps for scenes. Other limitations include 'body language' through crude animations (you can only 'operate' 2 fingers on a hand for instance), lip syncing is also very difficult (although we are doing well with our project to link the crazy talk engine to the avatar). SL/OpenSim has its strengths, using those is perhaps the benchmark you maybe looking for, and how media producers are pushing those boundaries. _____________________
