Hey everyone! I'm the Community Manager for Alt-Zoom Studios which is in charge of the Take5 Machinima Festival. May's festival showcased an unprecedented 8 films by 4 individuals. This month's festival promises to be much larger! June's Festival will take place on Wednesday, June 21st, but the submission deadline is Sunday, June 18th, at 11:59pm SL time. For more on Alt-Zoom Studios or the Take5 Machinima Festival, please visit http://www.alt-zoom.com/take5/. What is the theme? The theme is "Biography" - but that's just there to get your imagination pumping. If you already have an idea that doesn't play well with the theme, we don't care! We just want to make this as easy as possible. What are the rules?Films should be shorts - no longer than about 10 minutes. You can submit as many movies as you want to. Films must be submitted by 11:59pm Pacific(SL) time, Sunday, June 18th to take5@alt-zoom.com or uploaded to Rapid Upload to be made available for download. BuhBuhCuh Fairchild, and anyone else who judges will not be eligible for any prizes, but they can submit a film. Films with illegal or broadly offensive elements will not be eligible for screening or prizes. What are the prizes?$L10,000 for Best Movie $L5,000 for Best Cinematography $L5,000 for Best Story $L5,000 for Best Editing $L5,000 for Technical Accomplishment I have additional questions about the Festival. Who do I contact? You can contact moo Money in-world or email her at moo@alt-zoom.com. Good luck everyone and happy filming!

From: Robbie Dingo ello, as the films are sometimes streamed in world, I wondered if there was any advice on best format to use? ie. size, resolution, frame-rate, etc etc. ty Well, we accept movies of any quality, but it's best to be close to 30 fps because that is what a real movie would record at. I always get much less than that, depending on the sim, but fraps helps reduce some of the drop in frame-rate. Depending on your computer, it's best to start with 640x480, but it really doesn't matter. Just keep the movie under 10 minutes and we can download/convert any format you use, although for streaming purposes, it will be put into quicktime .mov.
