why Ctrl Shift A doesnt work for me to record movies?! does the feature still exist? help?!?

Hi Deelight,

You are correct in thinking that it doesn't work anymore. I recommend FRAPS (which I believe has a free version) to capture movies.

If you want to go on with making machinima, hypercam is excellent as well.

Another good free one is CamStudio. Truthfully the in-UI recording system is not much of a loss; it never recorded audio and only worked for a few people.

FRAPS is a good program

"Truthfully the in-UI recording system is not much of a loss"....lol, no kidding...I have found that FRAPS works fine and you can set which key you want to turn on the cam record function... although the free version has a watermark at the top of the screen...the paid version costs about $39 US or something like that.

I haven't actually tried, but has anyone tried the Ctrl+Shift+A using the Hippo Client and not the LL offerings?

The one I use allows for all sorts of things not available or working in the LL standard clients. Things like 100 transparency, 99% hollow, 100 Groups (YAYYYY, yes okay I know LL wont allow that) it doesn't matter what everyone else sees, I can still see those functions in the viewer while I'm filming, thats all that counts (except the 100 group allowance

) lol.

Fraps or HyperCam will do you, both cost about the same.. Personal preference is HyperCam as I can select the capture size of the screen dynamically. If you are even slightly interested in making movies in SL or other platforms, get one of those.
