hey guys! This looks like a really great tool for machinimators:
http://creativemachinery.org/lipsync_viewer.html

The only issue is, I have vista 64 bit and am having soo much drouble downloading it. It needs a lower version of release candidate, which i downloaded but everytime i try to open it it wants me to download the new client.

The website says to change the target in the properties tab in my desktop icon, but when i try to change it to what it says, it says it's not a valid target and won't let me change the target!

It also says to copy over two files from that wiki, i'm not even sure where those two files are?

What a disaster! Does anyone have this and gotten it to work?

Yep, I know what you are saying. I had that same problem and wish I could hear some one tell us how to get it to work....how about it? Does anyone out there know what to do to get this version to work on SL viewer? Please help!

Geuis makes Motor Mouth that works out of the box. Does much the same thing, and isn't client version or OS related. I think it's about 400L$ so good value. We use it a lot for our inworld machinima when we are not using CrazyTalk.

Motor Mouth lags sooooo much for me and you need a REALLY good mic. I have the latest version and was literally yelling then talking softly, then talking normal and it was sooo lagged with the lip movement and it moved like 2 times then just stopped moving. It's frustrating! You have to be in a super good sim and I think it was even more problematic because we had tons of extras there, so it lagged everyone.

Lip sync viewer is amazing- from what i tried so far- no lag! I figured out how to install it so if anyone needs help : Ariella Languish

Motor Mouth laggs you??

I run Vista 32 and 64 with SL, even with XP, I didn't lagg using motor mouth. You may have to detach your excite stuff.. , that may help with lag.

Seriously, Motor Mouth is not a true lip syncing programme, it is at best a half way house, but is better than the really bad Emotives that LL give out, which crash even my rock steady system.

Haha.. no excite stuff for me!
I know it's not true lip syncing, but sometimes when someone, or I use it, and I have a standard $20 headset from Walmart- they have a mic slightly better- It looks as if the avatar is not moving its lips at all. So it looks as if the avatar almost pierces their lips, unpierces their lips, makes a kissy face, and barely opens its mouth. And they have all the voice gestures active. We take it to another sim and all of a sudden it works. We have the latest client too! Oh well.

I was lucky enough to be one of the early testers for the lipsync viewer. I really like it and I think its heading in a good direction towards solving some very fundamental problems related to socializing and communicating in sl. Most people dont know that I wrote the core code for Motor Mouth over a year ago, but it wasn't until voice was released that the application became apparent. One thing some of you might like to know is that I have been revising MM to run under Mono. Its looking verrrrry good.

nice!! I just edited a trailer yesterday- all the dialogue was in Lipsync Viewer-- easiest time I ever had with lipsync- I'll tell ya that much! Although sometimes it's clearly not synced, but speeding up the video just a bit fixes it, but even if its a little off it doesn't seem to bother many people who watch it. I mean, after all, even FMV's in today's video games aren't perfectly synced.

I know this isnt exactly in line with what you are talking about (not wanting to use CrazyTalk) but it does add that little something..
http://www.wba-advertising.com/slboulevard/sl_boulevard.html what I am talking about, is around halfway through this movie we made.
