I know very little about Machinima except I would love to take my RL film skills and translate them into SL. Anyone who is good at Machinima and want to enter this contest with me as part of the team (apprentice?) I can provide land (4 sims of beach and rolling hill); money for sets, etc. (Executive Producer role). If this sounds interesting to you, please check out this website about the contest: http://www.g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/681414/Second_Life_Sponsors_Film_Contest.htmland IM me inworld. Thanks!

Hi.... I'm a machinima maker in SL.. sounds like a wild project... I'm in the UK.. so timezones maybe a problem, or an advantage... If you register for the competition, I'll join with you for this project.. didn't look what the prize is lol... but what the heck... Checkout our website http://www.wba-advertising.com and see a sample of our groups work.

Good luck. My advice--plan heavily. Prepare yourself.
I just got done with a RL 48-hour Film Festival...and it was a tragedy...not a comedy let me tell you. Stayed up shooting until 5 in the morning...come to find out, it never makes the time limit. And to top things off with a cherry---the edit they showed us weeks later...stunk to high-heaven.
Anyhow...be prepared. Finish your work. Know your deadline, and slot out your time accordingly.
Cheers.

48 hours is a doddle.... a lot of our movies I turn around in a couple of hours... its only detailed sim promos with a lot of detail and techniques that takes me a lot of time... Profiles and templates are the key to consistant rendering.. If you have a keen and creative mind to create the storyboard quickly, then execute it with speed and proficciency, 48 hours, with 2 timezones will be easy

Thanks to both of you for replying. I definitely want to meet with you inworld AWM; I like what you are doing! Time Zones only exist in RL to me..so no worries, all my close SL friends are European.
Michael, I agree with your advice! Very very true. Now I just cross my fingers and hope when I do a film...it is what it is.

The 48 hour contest is a RL one that is quite well known; they are just adding SL as a location..check out the website link in the OP.
We will be ready to get together to brainstorm after Monday; AWM is deeply in another project now; IM me inworld to get in touch.
