Ctrl - shift - A not responding

I'm having a really unusual problem.

Ctrl - shift a does not bring up the codec selection, it just shows the folder for saving an avi. video. Then, nothing is recorded. Same issue when selected from File -> Start/Stop Movie to Disk, nothing is recorded.

Uninstalled and reinstalled and still no change.

Anyone had this issue? File associations maybe? I didn't change anything on this machine lately, it just didn't respond the other day. Very frustrating.

Any troubleshooting ideas appreciated.

Its been 'fixed' and 'unfixed' too many times to remember. Depending on your OS, if it's Windows, grab a copy of Fraps or HyperCam, they both have much greater choice of features and do a good job.
