i know..i have lots of questions....sorry ....hope you experts can help me finish this promo vid for slcn.tv
using FRAPS...how can I capture the sounds of SL without capturing the ambient sounds of my real world?
much of my footage captures the in-world sounds along with my phone ringing, my kids yelling ets...in RL.

You can go into the audio settings in SL and tell it what sounds to play. So you can turn off the ambient sounds for example.

If I read this correctly, when you say Real World, I assume you mean from your microphone. If you are using Windows, double click the Speaker Icon in the QuickTask Bar, and choose Advanced, select the Recording section, and select the device you want to record from (not the Mic), make sure you deslect Stereo Mix, as this will mix sounds from Line In (or Mic) along with the output stage.
Change that back when you are done, otherwise SL Voice will not work. You will have to logout to do both these operations, otherwise the SL Client will report an error that no recording device has been set.

Instead of disabling mic...Deselect it as default...SELECT internal mixer card as DEFAULT..then in FRAPS Select Use Microsoft Default and NOT the option called Detect Best Sount Input. thanks!

Yes, the exact operation would depend on the sound devices you have in your system, but the same principal, glad it worked.
