Here is a short movie we produced for Beach Babes, done in the style of Advertainment.

It was fun to do the movie, despite the challenges, hope you enjoy. Feedback as always, appreciated.

Hey AWM --

Nice seeing you on the HIP deck yesterday.

Nice little vid. I like the girlz. =)

Also the surf shots are good, I've had a little experience
with that kind of shooting and it usually requires a few takes.

Hi Infrared,

Glad you liked the 'Girlz' lol/video.

Yes the surfing shots probably amounted to 50% of the takes I made, which amounted to less than 10% of the finished movie, after selecting what was the best shots. Fortunately, I only needed a couple of the better shots.

SL has been a trail the past few weeks for movie makers. The two days we allowed for the shoot, were perhaps some of the worst of late.

Was good to run into you as well on HIP deck. I used to spend a lot of time there, but only get the occasional trip now, due to workload. I saw it was well manned and only got one newcomer friendship invite, so turnned my nose back to the grindstone lol.

Nice video.

I agree on your concept of "advertainment", it's a good name for what some of us are trying to do.

The article by Skribe was interesting about one of your presentations that sadly I wasn't around in SL at the time to go see

Thanks Rosco for your comments.

I came up with the word Advertainment, because Entertising, didn't have the same ring to it LOL. I don't lay claim to it, it just seemed befitting at the time.

SL is perhaps one of the best places to tryout any concepts, new or otherwise. If it works or shows promise within an encapsulated social networking driven economy, then it has potential in the real world. People come to SL in one form or another, to escape RL.

I think we have drunk way to much tea/coffee when the adverts come on the TV, certainly electricity power stations provide stats, that report huge surges in demand, during the commercial breaks on large sporting events. Clearly proving one of two possible truths to be realistic, we are creatures of habbit and have formed an opinion that the adverts are not going to be interesting, or, we have not planned the event correctly (moved the kitchen within range of the remotes :) ).

There is no reason why we should not produce 'Advertainment' to our audiences, and our clients, why should their products be boring? I made a comment about 'Memory Keys' on skribes blog, using as an example 'We all know, when we hear the jingle, that a Coca Cola advert in on the TV, even when we cannot see the screen', yet Coca Cola don't sell music!
