New to Machinima

SO..I have a basis for a video, and I have the world to do it in (SL, duh =P)
beyond that...I don't know what to do =P.

I have Fraps (Free trial, should be fine for what I'm doing) for taking the video itself, and have a basic knowledge of how to use it, which is enough to at least get started.

What is there that I should get/use for a machinima? I need to find a Video Editing program that I can use (Doen editing before, in iMovie, loved that interface, but i don't own it, was at school), and I need to find an in-world camera system that isn't impossible to learn with no knowledge of them, and isn't 40000000 L$ =P

So..can anyhone help me out? I don't know what all there is out there, never done this kinda thing... but I have an idea for a video only I can do right (As anyone else would have their version, not mine), and I wish to do it...

Free is always better for me, but not necessary of course, as I know that isn't exactly easy to have good quality *and* free, so as long as it doesn't cost an arm and a leg I'm good....

So please.. can someone shine their wisdom down upon this litle girl? o.o

Since you have Fraps, I guess you are using Windows. You already have an adequate editor. Look for Windows Movie Maker. Here are instructions on how to use it:
