Location: Embryo Music: A. R. Rahman featuring Suzanne D'Mello - "Latika's Theme" (viewable in 720p using fullscreen with no scaling) I just noticed the machinima forum tonight but it coincided with me finishing this clip the other day so I thought I'd post it. Any and all feedback is welcome!

Hello Arbit, welcome to the forums. Your link did not show, mainly due to the code being removed by the system. Try entering it as a straight url paste on its own line like this.... http://www.mywebsitelink.comAt least people can copy it.

Hi AWM and thank you for the welcome. That's odd. I can see a working link in my original post. I used the image tags instead though because those seemed to be the only ones that still created active links (at least in Safari) but I guess it's not a universal result. Either way, I appreciate the heads up. Here's the url: http://www.vimeo.com/8394804Thanks again.

Wow, lovely imagery Arbit and really nice panning work too. I especially liked the frosted trees against the water.

Hello again Arbit,
Lovely movie... it shows the skills you have, very well. Not just in capturing, but in production and editing.
Did you use any of the settings available in windlight advanced editor? The standard templates are alright, but the permutations of settings available to you are almost endless.
Look forward to seeing more of your work :¬)

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the kind words and sorry for the slow reply. I'm still pretty new to the whole machinima world but progress has been coming in dribs and drabs and it's been a fun process regardless.
I know that probably looks pretty similar to the standard sunset setting but it's actually a custom sky and water. Normally it makes everything look very silvery but around 6:00PM it gives everything the cotton candy pinks without much of the oranges of the standard sunset. Subtle I know but it was what I was going for. The same is true for the water. I used a pale powder blue to help capture and reflect the pinks.
Thanks again for taking a look and for the feedback.

One of the biggest differences between machinima (especially in SL) and RL, is depth of field, or the lack of it. I did experiment for sometime, using different setting in the Atmosphere tab. It is possible to create a form of gausian blur effect, by bringing the haze controllerably closer to the subject, either reducing the colour pallete of the background, or obscuring it. I used this technique to create several parralexing layers within scenes, so I could apply special effects to just those layers (The Twilight Combat Sim movie). Look forward to seeing more of your work EDIT: I looked at some of your other work hosted at vimeo http://www.vimeo.com/8108943 this one is awesome, has a BladeRunner feel about it... you did justice to the set builder as well, is that SL? If it is.. WOW...

It's absolutely lovely. I especially loved the music. If you don't mind my asking, what is the name of the song?

Thanks again AWM and definitely thank you for the tip. I'm going to look into that and play around some more.
Those are all I've made so far but I'm glad you liked the futuristic one. It was captured at Hangars Liquides and yes it is in SL! The work there is amazing (the scale is shockingly enormous yet it's very detailed) and it's hands down one of my favorite sims.
Hi Neoserenity... Thanks, I love that music too. It's called "Latika's Theme" and it was written by A. R. Rahman for the movie Slumdog Millionaire. You can find it on Itunes, Amazon, etc...
