What tools are available to make recording in-game footage easier?
I have seen a few cameras that look nice.
What about scripted poseballs to mark out a scene with? What I mean is a poseball that you could 'program' with a series of actions to run on autopilot while you filmed. Are there any, would they be useful? (For instance to get the same scene from multiple camera angles by replaying it?, or for using 'actor bots'?)
Are there any other nice tools that make the in-game filming job easier?

I know its self promotion, but Filming Path is one of the more versatile and and easy to use camera dolly systems. Yes, its my product, its found here http://slurl.com/secondlife/Mortons%20Gully/209/30/35. Its relatively inexpensive for what it does, its very versatile, and most people will recommend it. There's a free camera system called Alt-Zoom that moo Money can tell you more about. There's a very expensive device called MachinimaCam from CodeBastard Redgrave that does swirly camera motions around your avatar. What a number of us are starting to use is a device called a Space Navigator from 3dconnexion using the SL client Flycam option. moo Money turned me on to this. By far, this has opened up the biggest variety of camera moves since I came out with Filming Path at the beginning of the year. You don't have to use this particular device, so if you have a usb Xbox controller you could use that. The benefits from the Space Navigator is the full 6 dimensions, which are limited with a console controller. Its only like $60USD on Amazon, so its a good investment. It *is* tricky to use at first, but once you get the hang of it its pretty useful. I have a new hud-less camera system that is not for sale yet which lets you set up to hundred virtual viewpoints, rapid switching via keyboard controls, assignable Quickviews to function keys. Each viewpoint can be switched from a static lock shot to avatar tracking. Its probably best described as Bijocam on steroids with the learning curve of a Fisherprice baby's toy. I am giving out free beta copies to those who want them for now. Hope this all helps and other people can make good recommendations, too.
