does anyone know if it's possible, through Machinima or any other means, to project a real time video of one space in SL onto the wall of another space in SL that is geographically isolated from the video space? In other words… if I’m in one space, can I see a real time video of what’s going on in a another space?

Like a security camera? No. But of course where there's a will there's a way.

You could set up a macro to record, save and upload the video to a remote server then you would have to have the URL of that server with the video scripted into your in-world TV screen.

When uploading the video to your server it should always be the same name. So if you want to save the old videos, you will have to write script on your server to have the old files rename themselves when the new scripts are uploaded.

It sounds like a lot of work. But if you do all the work and set up the macro, it ,may be worth it I dunno.

That's just an idea though. :)

Nah, it's easy; you just need a spare PC. Run some screencasting software and SL on the spare computer with a dud account, look at what you want to project, then set the parcel's media URL to the screencast stream. If there's going to be a lot of people viewing it you might want to use a intermediary server to broadcast the stream.

There will always be a 10-15+ second delay between whats 'seen' and whats 'Projected', if you can find an intermedary service provider, some use Unicasting which reduces the load as the amount of viewers grow, as opposed to Multicasting.
