Shengri La - movie

We created this movie for our client at Shengri La Sim.

We used a mixture of flycam time lapsed sections and morphing masks 'Ken Burns' techniques.

Windlight made a greater sense of realism, although some of the footage was taken prior to Windlight, so there is a mixture.

Music and sound effects (4 layers) used to create the atmosphere of the theme.

We have created several versions of the movie, only 2 can be seen on this page

one being a smaller resolution than the other. We will be making editing cuts to these versions, so please check back again. The webpage supports both IE and FireFox etc.

Other versions are being considered for Broadway Manhattan and The Plazza Tokyo, on the giant plasma screens.

All media created by WBA-Advertising is protected by copyright and those extended by the use of rl composers and music labels.

We have just completed the 1st edit of the movie, no doubt there will be another smaller edit before publishing.

Clients final cut has been completed.

I'd really like to see your video. What am I doing wrong?
I go to the page fine..it says welcome..then when I select either Sim1..or Sim1A..it turns to a white outlined square with a small box in the upper left corner with a red square..a green circle and a blue triangle in it. And that's how it stays from then on.

What do I need to do to have the video show?

The html code is suitable for both IE and FireFox (as I have tested with both) assuming you have allowed and or installed the pluggin for QuickTime. Try uninstalling QuickTime and reinstalling it, as the plugin isn't always automatcially installed if you install FireFox after doing so.

If that still presents a problem. Open QuickTime player, File Open Url, and paste this in http://www.wba-advertising.com/shengrila/sim4c.mov the movie should download and play directly to your system.

We only ask that in playing the media files direct from our webserver, you do not save a copy, use all or in part and element of the media, edit or de-engineer and element of it, for any purposes whatsoever. All our media is protected by copyright laws.

Not bad at all...you're right; the Windlight really makes the scenery more realistic. I'm so used to using SL on my laptop, it was great to see how good it can actually look with a quality graphics card, lol. Good job w/ the editing too. I noticed toward the end, the sounds of the animals were blended in, not over-done but just enough to hear. "5 Stars"

Although windlight does make things look pretty, thats all it does, most textures now turn pink in sunset, or over yellow in sunrise and very blue at noon. Using the windlight controls can be quite daunting. If you create a unique look/theme, there is no telling anyone will be able to recreate it themselves, without the exact settings.

One thing is for sure, it can't make a bad building right, just slightly more pleasing to the eye, if disguised with a nice sunset. Having real shadows... now that would make a difference.. but have no clue if thats on the 'to do list' at LL.

Glad you appreciated the sound effects, we applied 4 layers of effects to the movie. Personally the lapping/running water always made me go to the bathroom whenever I heard it in the movie.
