Hello again, Another movie produced, this time with an Action theme. Over 45 hours of set building on location (houses, park, some street scenes and the Tariler park) and another 10 in the studio (house interior) to produce this movie. Your work is getting better and better AWM. I like the chase scene on the bikes...and the car getting stuck on the wooden bridge...the kids running away...but most impressive is the editing...

I think I missed mentioning previously, the system used in the movie is new to SL. It allows machinimist to apply scripts from the set, to different prims that react to actions. The same system can be used for Role Playing like war games for instance.
We have by no means exhausted the potential of this system. We wanted to show what this adds to the potential for making movies. They were developed for the Havok4 platform and work dynamically as physical objects within a film set work by the direction and type of impact.
We added several layers over the the footage, smoke, residual flames and even some scene punching to signify impact, but this does not take away from the pure physics that this system offers us as film makers. We can only imagine what other arenas of SL this can be used for. Your World, Your Imagination.

Awesome movie! I was so impressed with some of the reactions and such, the whole time I was thinking "Wow tracking down those types of animations prob took forever." Great work! Will this system be available to users soon? I'm excited!

The vast majority of animations we use for our movies, we make inhouse. Wherever possible, we make our own sets and sometimes even textures. Most of our music is composed using sound bytes and loops. Taking care that we do not use things which the creators may not wish us to use.
Some special effects in this movie are done at editing stage. The purpose of the movie is to show how the Universal Descruction System can add something more to your own movies within SL, and even to Role Playing. Above all else, we enjoyed making the movie.

Good job, it's always refreshing ta see an Action Machinima that's not done in World of Warcraft of HALO, but this one had more than just that going for it...I think that apart from Molotov Alva, that's the best resolution quality I've seen in any SL Machinima.
The fact that you used your own animations really added a lot too...not only because most anims you find in-world are "clunky", but also because us SL Residents have seen then over and over. They were nicely done too.
I think the editing/directing really added on to the overall feel of the movie too; it's tough to do an Action Machinima in SL, and I think the chase scene was the meat of this one, but I can't wait ta see what you do w/ the next one. Cool.

Thank you for your comments. Our group enjoy making movies in SL, which is 50% of the task. With such talented people adding to the sets, animations, textures, even the storyboard, we are blessed. It is true that SL presents its own set of challenges making machinima, working with its strengths, along with always searching for techniques that lift the platform beyond its perception, is always our goal. Its always nice to know the effort is acknowledged.  I'll make sure our group see this thread. Of course, the core of the movie, is the use of the Universal Destruction System, utilising that made some of the special effects within SL possible.
