Hello, my name is Stephen Arnold... And I was thinking of doing the play Romeo & Juliet in Second Life. But I am going to need some help with it... I cannot do it alone... I am going to need the support of Linden Labs, The Land Owners of Second Life, and the Residents of Land Owners... Here is a list of things that we are going to need and from who...
From Linden Labs:
- We are going to have to figure out some way of changing our Avatar's names (Or allow us to create Free alternate Avatars for the characters) - The financial support (We cannot do a play in Second Life without money) - A little bit of advertising for it (We will not do a play if no one comes)
From Land Owners:
- We are going to need some land to place the play (Setting: Verona, Italy)
From the Residents:
- We need actors! (Without actors there can be no play) - We need people to make the Gestures, Sound Clips, Back Drops, ETC
If you have any questions just post here... I want to make this a Sucess but that cannot happen without the help of other people... Thanks...

Hi,
Romeo and Juliet is a nice idea.
No questions - but a few suggestions...
I don't know how much help you will get from Linden Lab - but I don't think you need it either. I would approach this as any producer/film-maker approaches a project, that is basically to set about getting a team of people together who can provide the skills you need to create the artistic vision you have.
Just a few ideas...
No need to go creating every single animation - hire actors and models who have a huge repetoire of animations already and who already know how to use them to good effect.
Need a Verona film set - do some location scouting - or get someone who knows their way around the land to do this.
Marketing - likewise hire/find someone who knows how to advertise stuff in SL.
Oh, and I'm sure there is a way of turning off avatar names.
Hope you find some of that useful input.

I've been wanting to see something like this in SL for quite some time now. I am though curious about what level of detail/immersion you are thinking of. Were the lines merely to be delivered in text, or were you planning on streaming them live from the actors? Or playing back a recording?
Anyway, if you ever get this off the ground, I can help out with set construction and animations, just IM me inworld.
Another suggestion I'd have, particularly if you'll be doing this in text, is to choose a play with perhaps less emotional content and more action/special effects, as this would be better suited to the medium of SL... perhaps Richard III, or Macbeth.
