Hey, I've bought FRAPS and recorded a segment of video. I've download and installed the latest version of Divx. I installed the latest stable version of VirtualDub.
The video was recorded at 1024x768.
When I try to compress the video in VirtualDub, I choose the Divx codec and start, but then get an error "Video compression error: The source image format is not acceptable. (error code -2)".
Not sure what else to do here. The video clip is about 1gb and I need to compress it so I can do further work on it.
This is my first attempt to record SL video.

That sounds like you don't have the FRAPS codec installed properly. Have you restarted Windows since you installed FRAPS?

I found my problem and I'll describe how to fix it.
Don't record at full screen size in FRAPS. VirtualDub didn't like it.
However, if you HAVE recorded video and are having this problem, you don't have to re-record it.
In VD, under Video goto Filters. There's a couple ways to resize. I recommend the very top option, 2:1(High quality).
Under Video again, goto Compression. Set the codec to Uncompressed(first option). Go to file/Save as AVI and let it export out to a new file.
Your new AVI file will now be properly handled. Now you have the option of either taking the new file back into VirtualDub to compress it with Divx or another codec, or you can be like me and I loaded it into Quicktime Pro and saved it out as a .mov w/ the default compression settings.

That's pretty bizarre! Hm. Thanks for posting that.
I generally only record at a maximum of 800x600 anyway; not worth any higher if one is just going to put videos on the web.
