Hi,
I've tried both, but am not really enough of an expert to decide - any thoughts? And if you regularly use one or the other, what are your optimum settings?

Hi Dudeney,
Good to see you back in these parts =). You're asking a bit of a religious question, mate. I use FRAPs but AWM prefers hypercam. Both do the job. Depending if I'm working for the yanks I use either 30fps or 25fps. Always full-size. No cursor checked. It's usually not required for me to record sound but I always have 'no sync' unchecked. In SL I usually shoot at 800x600 or PAL, once again depending on my audience.
Cheers.

Depends on your objective

I use Fraps. Simple, easy to use. I run at 30fps, half size, sound on. Thats for videos on YouTube. For other purposes, I would use different setttings. TM

Its a bit like asking, which is the best wheel.... Both Fraps and HyperCam do the same thing, I prefer HyperCam, like I prefer Windows for my PC's but wouldn't touch it with a bargepole for our servers, Lunix is king for me there. If we all liked the same things, life would be boring
