Just finished this movie, made during the Dolls In The Attic Fashion Show on Saturday.

98 People braved the lag and were greeted by another awesome set created by Nex-Core for the show. This was no ordinary show.... but then Nex-Core don't do ordinary

Its features a sound track by Steve Hackett, called Clocks. Post produced and edited by yours truly for the movie. Enjoy the movie as much as we did making it. :)

Great job, AWM! First of all I didn't know there was a doll phenomena going
on in SL.

The film incorporates a lot of interesting techniques...the chroma effects and
pan/zooms.

Also impressive editing where you have all the short clips; something
I hope to try with machinima at some point.

The music was definitely suitable. And as always, the resolution is
so clear.

Enjoyed watching it.

Thanks for viewing the movie, glad you found it interesting.

I have been playing with chroma mapping for a while... but I always try and use interesting techniques to expand my knowledge. I use the Glow feature of Vegas, but for this movie, I use an additional technique of light mapping ranges of colours that the chroma glow would have effect on.
I could either select a short or wide range of effected colours using the light map, which excludes certain colours I choose. This gives an erie look to some scenes without totally blinding and wiping out the detail. For others I mapped colours from the outfits, to keep them in focus. The way to hone that, is not to actually use the glow, but to use the intensity and filter controls only.

I did this once before in a movie http://www.wba-advertising.com/kittybox/kittybox.html the halloween link. In the first part of the movie I wanted the mist to be washed out, leaving greyish scale silhoettes, whereas in the second half, I wanted the avatars to be vibrant. Changing the light maps, created the effect I wanted.

When all said and done, I am not a fan of using effects just because they are there. I have to feel they add something to the movie. I see quite a few movies that use every transition and effect available in their programme. This just shows the power of the programme and detracts from the creativity of the movie at editing stage.
