As a quick hint to some stuff I'm working on for the next version of Filming Path, I think that fans of the system will be excited. I won't go into much detail, but will leave it to your imagination. - No more waypoints. - Multiple targets - The HUD might disappear altogether... =)
The first 2 are definite new features. Waypoints will be an included option, aka the v1 & v2 system. But the main method of use will no longer use waypoints AT ALL. No more needing special build permissions in locked areas. I for one have been wanting to switch to multiple targets en-route. Don't you? I have this super slick system on paper that completely does away with the HUD, and we're not talking chat commands either. I think that it would be welcome by advanced users, but would make Filming Path completely inaccessible to beginners and less experienced folks, which is absolutely NOT what Filming Path is about. So for now, a HUD interface will likely always be the core control system for FP.
NOW, I NEED FEEDBACK:
I released a revised version of the HUD several weeks ago and out of the hundreds of people who have purchased it, it seems like only a handful of people tried the new version.
So, is Filming Path a tool that is still useful to machinima in SL? Is there something really limiting about the system that makes it useless for real machinima work? I NEED TO KNOW.
I also need to know what YOU want that it doesn't do now, or doesn't do well. The features and things that I want to add or change come from my own experience, and may be completely different from what other people want.
So lay it on me, what is it that you want that will make your machinima productions EASIER, FASTER, and MORE EFFICIENT?
The window for suggestions is only about another week or so, before I have to buckle down and really work out and code this entirely new, awesome version of Filming Path.
Thanks for the feedback, and the continuing support for the people that find Filming Path valuable.

Hey Geuis --
Great news on Version 3. I've have used the latest version without much problem, so I haven't provided much feedback. My two original issues were with the HUD (now it's great) and the seating position (cosmetic and not very important).
My main wishlist consists of 2 things which it seems you're addressing and they are:
1. The ability to film in places where one doesn't have permissions.
2. Multiple targets.
I'm very anxious to try out the next version...and will provide a lot of feedback as you know I have.
Don't rush the development!
Cheers, Infrared

Hmmm, I'm not sure what version I have (was it a free upgrade from v1 to v3?).
Anyways, my issue with the HUD was that it was too large, and perhaps it could be folded away when not needed - clearly a good view of all of the screen area is important when filming. Maybe this is something you already sorted in v2? - if so - I dont have have that update.
With respect to removing the waypoints, sounds like a cool thing, however, we do need the ability to finely edit the path once generated - sure you have that under control tho...
Cheers, (let me know about the v1 = v2 upgrade thing) Rob

I like the new HUD. Small and mostly out of the way. I would like to see multiple targest as well as maybe a self target. How about a self follower while filming? Would like to be able to change targets in the middle of filming as well.
