I get 30 FPS, no dropped frames. Then it lets me record onto the PC whatever I've just taped. Why would I do it this way? Simple!! The more stuff running on your PC/Mac, the more likely it's gonna bog down & start lagging on SL. It keeps all the computer resources free for SL to operate. When I record back to the PC, I have the options of several video formats, mostly I stick to MPEG or Quicktime. And I can take that video & record it back to a much smaller size, perfect for uploading/downloading. For final editing I use a combo of Adobe Premiere & After Effects. Had Combustion 2 to "play with" but it's not as user-friendly as the other two. I had to give up on my last "tour of SL" video since I got tired of sorting through 3 hours of video!! Gotta plan better next time. Heh, So much to see!! _____________________ really pissy & mean right now and NOT happy with Life. |

I use a video capture device on a PC to send the video via S-Video into a Mac. Then I use iMovie to edit, which while limited, is really easy to use. I've found with Fraps on my high end PC I get a 10-15% frame rate drop and on a lower end PC a 30% frame rate drop. This might not be a big deal, depending on what your doing. _____________________ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Electric Sheep Company Satchmo Blogs: The Daily Graze Satchmo del.icio.us |

This uses a PC and a Mac but it's the same idea...
