My SL Avi Files plays too fast

I made a movie in SL (pats self on back) using the Ctrl-Shft-A key and when I play it on my computer it goes 2 to 3 times faster than it should. I played it in Quicktime, Winamp and in Media play - all the same result. Did I miss a step? Should I do something else with my Avi file before I play it?

I sent the file to 2 other people as I thought it was my computer and they report the same result so either I am recording it wrong in SL or I need to do something else to the file before it will play properly in a player so can anyone help me out?

BTW - I was able to slow the speed in media player and it looks great at 0.222

Thanks in advance for your help.

It probably depends on the fps capture rate. SL is not a stable platform, fps can vary. If you use a programme like Fraps or HyperCam (both windows programmes), you can set the fps capture rate. Between 20-25 fps should be ample. The same effect can happen if you capture using a codec, but you said you captured in AVI format, so should not happen due to that.
Capturing at a low fps, then editing it or playing in a player, will always smooth out the flow, so your potential 10-15fps capture will result in a quickening of the movie.

So it is because SL is unstable

...then I need to do again with one of the screen capture programs you mentioned. Okay. And I should check the fps in whichever program I choose then - or is that usually an automatic thing. Cool - thanks bunches.

In the various settings tabs in both programmes, you will see fps capture rate. There are also settings for quality, codecs, sound, cursors, file locations for saving etc.
