Movie Format Woes

Ok, so I have spent the last 7 hours encoding video to different formats (all that work in quicktime) uploading to my server, then watching in SL. I cannot get any to work, although I can get other people's video to play.

I really need your guys' help on this! What are your favorite formats to encode to? I have used .mov, but the file sizes are horrible. please....

Well have you set the screen size to something reasonable I think 480 by 640 but not sure. Anyway thats what i set my screen size to before I start filming. Then for mov when I export it I set it to 160 by 240? something like that. It looses all detail but plays ok in sl and a 5 minute movie is about 22 mbs that way, Also I do a 640 by 480 wmv version that looks a lot better but you can't see it in SL. but I give people the url and they can see it outside SL.

I am having problems more along the lines of taking video and encoding it so i can stream it into SL.
