Ok I have read in a few topics that you can stream .swf files into SL. I have also seen a couple player scripts that claim to allow .swf files to be streamed in SL. I have some small .swf files I uploaded to me personal website to test the streaming of them in SL. This did not work. Nothing played. I then read a thread that stated you have to select a box in quicktime options to let quicktime play .swf files. Here is the problem I have the latest version of Quicktime and that box is not an option. Can anyone help?

I believe this only works if the swf is compiled as v5 or earlier. Flash is now up to v9

That does not work either. You would think Flash being so prominate on the internet Quicktime would at least be more compatible. =(

It might not work anymore, but that's the best I can think of.

The version of flash that does work in the QuickTime pluggin is v3 and before. This coincides with the introduction of actionscripts which is unsurpported in QT. Whats more, you have to check the flash format in the list of compatible files for the pluggin as it is not set by default.
Smartest way, when you render from Flash, check the MOV format and it will output a QT version, or use a conversion programme. Either way, you will probably not gain much in the way of quality.
Another way, to render the output into a AVI format (uncompressed) and take that into your editing programme and render the output from there. At least that way, you have more control over quality. That is the method I use when mixing various formats into a MOV file.
