I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I'm wondering how to make the avatar's mouth move with the words as seen in some machinima videos. Is there an easy way?

Hi, this has been discussed previously here:-

....if this helps?

Mostly done in post production like this example.

But I believe someone made a device in SL that triggered the built in animations which move lips, but this was a bit hit and miss.

If you can wait however, it appears that a new development to SL is coming soon, which will include mouth movement based upon the level of streamed voice sound, which should make lip sync a lot easier....

This is a current project I am working on.

Exact lip sync in SL is currently impossible. This is about as close as I've seen anyone get.

It should be on the market within a week or so, barring RL delays.

What sort of price are we looking at?

Not sure of the starting price yet.

Robbie, double-checked that blog post by LL, it doesn't say anything about *mouth* animations unless I red that wrong. To the contrary, they mention the difficulty of doing lip syncing, so are working on some new gestures.

I would think this means that the mouth will still not move, but they will have arm and body gestures that are different from typing to indicate talking.

I think, from what I have heard that Lip Sync based upon voice amplitude is on the cards, but not in the first version.
