SZ SailTimer v1.2
===========
SZ SailTimer is a HUD attachment intended for sail racing purposes (or any other use that you might need a HUD stopwatch with 1 second precision). If you are tired with estimating the countdown in sail races, or frustrated with missing starts, the SailTimer will certainly be helpful. It will sit neatly next to the Flying Tako infohud, or at any other place on your HUD that you might want to choose, and is optimized with transparent looks to give maximum visibility, and also readability either during day or night time.
FEATURES:
-----------
* Functions as countdown timer and stopwatch
* Race mode allows the timer to listen commands from others than the owner
* Alarm sound during the last 10 seconds of the countdown for precision starts, with adjustable volume
* Transparent analog and digital displays with changing colors to notify the countdown phase
* Chat and button controls for easy usability
* Precise time based on GMT time, minimizing lag caused by sim border crossings
* Mod rights for resizing and replacing the Hud object to best position
SAILTIMER INSTRUCTIONS:
-----------------------------
Right click and wear the attachment, or attach to HUD at your chosen point to get the SailTimer visible and ready for use.
Typing +help at your chat will give you the following list of commands, that can be used from the chat.
+set x - set the countdown time to x seconds
The countdown time can be set either to negative or positive value depending on need, but for sail racing purposes a negative value should be used (the default start line time with SLSF races is -120 seconds)
+start - start the countdown timer running
The timer can also be started by the hud "start" button, if the timer is stopped.
+pause - stop the countdown timer momentarily
The timer can also be stopped by the hud "start" button, if the timer is running.
+reset - stop the countdown timer and reset
The timer can also be reset with the hud "reset" button.
+race - toggle race mode on and off
Race mode can also be toggled with the hud "race" button. When race mode is on, the timer will listen to chat commands from everyone, allowing the timer to automatically start at sailing races when the start command is heard. If you prefer to allow the timer to only listen for commands from yourself, you can toggle the race mode off. Race mode toggles off automatically, when the race is started, and needs to be toggled on again for a next race. When you don't need the listener, it's suggested to keep race mode turned off.
+sound - toggle the alarm sound on and off
The alarm can also be toggled with the hud "sound" button. Alarm will notify the last 10 seconds of the countdown period.
+volume x - set the alarm volume to x (between 0 and 100)
+help - displays help text
RESIZING & POSITIONING:
----------------------------
The Hud timer can be resized and positioned to best fit your hud configuration. To do this, right click on attached timer on your hud, select edit, and use the position and stretch features to adjust the timer.
Please make a copy of the timer before modifying.
KNOWN ISSUES:
-----------------
The precision of updating the display can suffer from lag in highly built/scripted areas. This issue will hopefully be resolved in a future version.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:
-------------------------
The SailTimer is based on the race timer script from Kanker Greenacre, so thanks for the groundwork should go to him. And of course we wouldn't be sailing the Tako without his tremendous work.

If you encounter any problems or wish to give ideas for future improvements, feel free to IM me.
Enjoyable sailing with your new SailTimer!
