I'd like to give a hearty SLSF welcome to a club that many of you probably haven't heard about yet: Flapjack's Sailing and Yacht Club at Chong(163,77), right on the shores of what is probably the largest lake in Second Life. (Affectionately called Sorrowful Lake of Leeching Teen Donuts... uh, too much grog one night.) Hi, Flappy! I found my way to Flapjack Spatula's marina when Rezo Takashi happened upon me setting up a racing course on Lake Donut. Bringing out a Trudeau sailboat, she took me over to this marina where I found a nice pier, a pretty posh clubhouse on the hill, and a good group of people. They're just getting started, but they have quite the refreshing enthusiasm for sailing that I think is just what the SL community needs. The joy of sailing is what Flappy's club is about and there is no better starting point for a long, long, long sail than this lake which also connects to the various rivers on the large southern linden continent. (Affectionately called.... uhm... that large southern linden continent.) Feel free to use the place any time to rez your boats and start sailing. And stop by to say hello to the peoples. They're open to any new ideas, looking for a good way to help promote sailing in Second Life just as we all are! Also, keep your eyes out for more info as Flapjack's Sailing and Yacht Club has its proper open marina event, hopefully in two weeks' time!

I meet Flapjack and Rezo while we were both buying the new Defender. They told me about Flapjacks. Of course, i just had to check it out.
Great place. Nice people and lots of water. I've only sailed there a few times but will go back for more. Check it out.

...i'm totally excited for flapjack's club and hope all the SLSF 'regulars' make a point to drop by its proper debut, once it's announced...maybe one or two established skippers could adopt it as a regular haunt to help draw new people into the SLSF community, offer advice, share experience, etcet?..
...y'know, help kickstart a vibrant new venue...
